About Lori
Image consultant, speaker, and bestselling author Lori Bumgarner assists recording artists, music industry professionals, and other professionals in developing an image and personal brand to advance their careers. As the owner of Nashville's paNASH Style LLC, an image consulting company that provides wardrobe styling and interview coaching services, Lori has worked with a variety of clients including Grammy-award winners, video chart toppers, various record labels, professional athletes, entrepreneurs, recent college grads, career changers, busy moms, and more.
Lori thrives in an environment where first and foremost she can be an encouragement to others in their careers, while also being able to express her creative side through image development and all that it entails.
After ten years as a college career adviser guiding others in pursuit of their passions, Lori decided it was time to follow her own advice. Not that she didn't already love her work as a career adviser, but she had other desires and interests from early in life that she wanted to integrate in a creative way into what she was already doing. For many years up until then, the question of how exactly to do so was always ringing in her ears. In 2007, the answer to that question became clear when Lori decided to combine her zeal for career advising, her gift of encouraging others, and her eye for fashion and style to create paNASH Style (a play on the words "panache" and "Nashville" in case you didn't catch that the first time!).
Today, Lori's business has expanded to include work directly with record labels for their award-winning artists, numerous speaking engagements in the music industry and at various colleges, a weekly blog, an Amazon #1 bestselling book entitled Advance Your Image: Putting Your Best Foot Forward Never Goes Out of Style, and numerous media appearances. Her sound and practical advice has been featured in magazines including Nashville Lifestyles, online blogs such as The Wall Street Journal "Juggle" blog, radio shows including the WKDF Morning Show and The Music Row Show, and the popular local television program Better Nashville.
Lori possesses a combined 15 years experience in career coaching (most recently at Vanderbilt University), media coaching, and image consulting. She holds a master of education degree from the University of South Carolina and a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Lori's primary goals in working with her clients are to help them see themselves in the same light that God sees them, to bring continuity to their talents and their appearance, and to polish the gem they already are on the inside so that they shine even brighter to the world!

From Lori
As much as I love to shop, my favorite part of my job is when I see my clients light up and stand taller when they look and feel their best. This is the most rewarding thing for me. Nothing beats that! One of the misconceptions about my job is the association some people may be tempted to make between the terms 'image consultant/stylist' and 'materialistic shop-a-holic.' Materialism and shallowness is not what paNASH Style is about.
paNASH Style is a Christian-based business. As the owner, I am also the Vice President of paNASH Style because God is the President and CEO. I consult Him in every decision I make regarding my business and my personal life. 1 Peter 3:3 says "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes." This might sound like what I do in my business is in direct contradiction with this Scripture. But, Jackie Kendall and Debby Jones (authors of Lady in Waiting) state:
This verse does not advocate homeliness as proof of godliness. Some women [and men] are under the misguided perception that to be holy, one must look homely. This is not true. Women [and men] should seek to look their best. This verse simply challenges you to not devote all your energies toward painting the outside, thus neglecting the enduring qualities that need developing on the inside.
In working with clients, I believe in bringing their inner beauty and qualities to the surface. That inner attractiveness shines through when my clients feel confident about themselves.
